Yin-Yang Associates With These Five Elements
Earth, Metal, Water, Wood and Fire
Welcome to another #FengShuiFriday! In our last blogpost Ying and Yang In Your Home we discussed how using the Yin-Yang concept can bring balance into your home. Now join the idea of Yin-Yang with the 5 Elements and Chi to bring the ultimate balance to your home or office.
The easiest way to understand the 5 elements is through color.
- Wood = Green, Brown
- Fire = Red, Strong Yellow, Orange, Purple, Pink
- Earth = Light Yellow, Sandy/Earthy, Light Brown
- Metal = White, Gray
- Water = Blue, Black
An example of using the 5 Elements and Yin-Yang is if you walk into a room and the walls are a darker wood, what could you do to cure that over indulgence in Yin and the Wood Element? Add a little Yang and Metal (color and physical attributes). Pay attention to how a space makes you feel. If the room is overpowering with a color, shape, odor, or overall bad energy, cure it!
The 5 Elements also has a productive and destructive cycle & shapes which we will talk about more in a later blogpost. Today’s blogpost is merely introducing you to the concept as well as introducing the colors associated with each element. This is a big step in understanding how Feng Shui works.
This will become especially usefull when you are going to buy a new home or sell your current home.
